Habitat of Acourtia wrightii, southeast of Kingman, Arizona.

Habitat.
The specimen is at center in front of a clump of Yucca baccata.
The new stems and leaves are emerging amongst the dead leaves of last year.
The large shrubs in the background are Canotia holacantha.

Bureau of Land Management public lands: Off of Hualapai Mountain Road,
about four and a half miles southeast of Historic Route 66 in Kingman.
Elevation ca. 4,300 feet.

Though with dead stems, the plant is still alive and will likely begin to grow again from the base once rains come.  In fact, this individual had a few green leaves beginning to sprout.
