
Flower. The dark curved appendage inside the flower at left is not a part of it,
but a seed of Erodium cicutarium.
Bureau of Land Management public lands: Off of Hualapai Mountain Road,
about four and a half miles southeast of Historic Route 66 in Kingman.
Elevation ca. 4,300 feet.

Flower, bent down to show the narrow rim at the base of the petals.
That it has a rim at all marks it as belonging to E. californica; that the rim
is so narrow is one of the characteristics of E. californica ssp. mexicana.
