~Calylophus hartwegii ssp. fendleri (=Oenothera hartwegii var. fendleri).  HARTWEG'S SUNDROPS.  Perennial.  McDougall lists Oenothera hartwegii, with no variety or subspecies noted, as present in Coconino, Navajo, and Apache counties, 4000-7000 feet; but USDA does not show the species as being present in Arizona.  Subspecies fendleri is the only variant of this taxon in its synonymy that occurs in Arizona, other than the following which was already covered by McD in a separate entry, and is most likely the one corresponding with the range he gives.


Calylophus hartwegii ssp. pubescens (=Oenothera greggii var. lampasana).  HARTWEG'S SUNDROPS.  Perennial.  Reported from the White Mountains of Apache County, 4000-7000 feet [McD].


Calylophus lavandulifolius (=Oenothera lavandulaefolia; Oenothera lavandulaefolia var. glandulosa).  LAVENDERLEAF SUNDROPS.  Perennial or subshrub.  Yavapai, Coconino, Navajo, and Apache counties, 3500-7500 feet [McD].


Calylophus serrulatus (=Oenothera serrulata).  YELLOW SUNDROPS.  Perennial.  Navajo and Apache counties, 4000-7000 feet [McD].


Camissonia boothii ssp. boothii (=Oenothera boothii).  BOOTH'S SUNCUP.  Annual.  Vicinity of San Francisco Mountain and in Wupatki National Monument, Coconino County, at ca. 5000 feet [McD].


Camissonia boothii ssp. condensata (=Oenothera decorticans var. condensata).  SHREDDING SUNCUP.  Annual.  Reported in Mohave County, at 2500 feet or lower [McD].


Camissonia brevipes ssp. brevipes (=Oenothera brevipes).  GOLDEN SUNCUP.  Annual.  Mohave County, below 4500 feet [McD].


Camissonia brevipes ssp. pallidula (=Oenothera pallidula).  PALLID SUNCUP.  Annual.  Mohave County [McD].


Camissonia californica (=Oenothera leptocarpa).  CALIFORNIA SUNCUP.  Annual.  Reported from Mohave and Yavapai counties, below 4500 feet [McD].


Camissonia chamaenerioides. (=Oenothera chamaenerioides).  LONGCAPSULE SUNCUP.  Annual.  Mohave and Yavapai counties, and in the Grand Canyon in Coconino County, below 5500 feet [McD].


Camissonia claviformis (=Oenothera clavaeformis).  BROWNEYES.  Annual.  Mohave and Yavapai counties, below 4500 feet [McD].


Camissonia exilis.  SLENDER EVENING PRIMROSE.  COTTONWOOD SPRINGS SUNCUP.  Annual.  Northwestern Mohave County near Nevada border in "Hungry Valley" 3500 feet; northern Coconino County near Utah border in "Coyote Valley" at 5400 feet [ARPC].


Camissonia multijuga (=Oenothera multijuga).  FROSTSTEM SUNCUP.  Annual or biennial.  Mohave and Coconino counties, up to 5500 fet but mostly below 2500 feet [McD].


Camissonia pallida ssp. pallida (=Oenothera micrantha var. exfoliata).  PALEYELLOW SUNCUP.  Annual.  Mohave, Yavapai, and Coconino counties, below 4500 feet [McD].


Camissonia parryi (=Oenothera parryi).  REDCLAY SUNCUP.  Annual.  Reported from northern Mohave County and northwestern Coconino County, 1500-4500 feet [McD].


Camissonia pterosperma (=Oenothera pterosperma).  WINGFRUIT SUNCUP.  Annual.  Reported from Grand Canyon National Park, northeastern Mohave County, 4500-5000 feet [McD].


Camissonia refracta (=Oenothera refracta).  NARROWLEAF SUNCUP.  Annual.  Found in Mohave County below 4000 feet [McD].


Camissonia scapoidea ssp. scapoidea (=Oenothera scapoidea var. seorsa).  PAIUTE SUNCUP.  Annual.  Eastern Coconino, and Navajo and Apache counties, 5000-5500 feet [McD].


Camissonia specuicola ssp. specuicola.  KAIBAB SUNCUP.  Perennial.  Grand Canyon National Park: Inner Canyon, including South Kaibab Trail, 4500-5600 feet [ARPC].


Camissonia specuicola ssp. hesperia.  KAIBAB SUNCUP.  Perennial.  Grand Canyon National Park and vicnity: Along Colorado River from Separation Canyon to Spencer Canyon; and Havasu and Hualapai canyons; 1200-3500 feet [ARPC].


Chamerion angustifolium (=Epilobium angustifolium).  FIREWEED.  Kaibab Plateau and San Francisco Mountain in Coconino County; White Mountains of Apache County; 7000-11,500 feet [McD].


Circaea alpina ssp. pacifica (=Circaea alpina var. pacifica).  SMALL ENCHANTER'S NIGHTSHADE.  Perennial.  Oak Creek Canyon and its branches, Coconino County; near Greer in Apache County; 5500-9000 feet [McD].


Epilobium brachycarpum (=Epilobium paniculatum).  TALL ANNUAL WILLOWHERB.  Annual.  Yavapai, Coconino, and Apache counties, 3500-7500 feet [McD].


Epilobium canum ssp. garrettii (=Zauschneria garrettii).  GARRETT'S FIRECHALICE.  Perennial.  Northeastern Mohave County near the Utah state line, ca 5000 feet [McD].


Epilobium canum ssp. latifolium (=Zauschneria californica ssp. latifolia).  HUMMINGBIRD TRUMPET.  Perennial.  Yavapai and southern Coconino counties, 3500-7000 feet [McD].


Epilobium ciliatum ssp. ciliatum (=Epilobium adenocaulon; Epilobium adenocaulon var. parishii).  FRINGED WILLOWHERB.  Perennial.  Throughout region at 4000-9500 feet [McD].


Epilobium halleanum.  GLANDULAR WILLOWHERB.  Perennial.  Reported from Coconino County and from the White Mountains of Apache County, 8000-10,000 feet [McD].


Epilobium hornemannii.  HORNEMANN'S WILLOWHERB.  Perennial.  Coconino and Apache counties, 7000-11,000 feet [McD].


Epilobium oregonense.  OREGON WILLOWHERB.  Perennial.  Reported from the Phelps Botanical Area in Apache County, 9500 feet [McD].

Gayophytum ramosissimum.  PINYON GROUNDSMOKE.  Annual.  Found in Coconino County, and in the Chuska Mountains of Apache County, 6500-9000 feet [McD].


Ludwigia peploides ssp. peploides (=Jussiaea repens var. peploides).  Perennial.  YELLOW WATERWEED.  FLOATING PRIMROSE-WILLOW.  Yavapai and Coconino counties, 3000-7000 feet [McD].


Oenothera albicaulis.  WHITEST EVENING-PRIMROSE.  Annual.  Throughout region at 2500-7500 feet [McD].


Oenothera brachycarpa (=Oenothera brachycarpa var. wrightii).  SHORTFRUIT EVENING-PRIMROSE.  Perennial.  Reported from Coconino and Navajo counties at 4000-6000 feet [McD].



Oenothera caespitosa ssp. caespitosa (=Oenothera caespitosa var. montana).  TUFTED EVENING-PRIMROSE.  Perennial.  Coconino, Navajo, and Apache Counties [McD].

Oenothera caespitosa ssp. marginata (=Oenothera caespitosa var. marginata).  TUFTED EVENING-PRIMROSE.  Perennial.  Throughout region at 3000-7500 feet [McD].


Oenothera cavernae.  CAVEDWELLING EVENING-PRIMROSE.  Annual.  Havasu Canyon, and reported from Grand Canyon and from near Navajo Bridge, Coconino County, usually at ca. 4000 feet or lower [McD].


Oenothera coronopifolia.  CROWNLEAF EVENING-PRIMROSE.  Perennial.  Mohave, Coconino, and Apache counties, 5500-8000 feet [McD].


Oenothera deltoides.  BIRDCAGE EVENING-PRIMROSE.  Annual.  Mohave County at 1000-4000 feet [McD].


Oenothera elata ssp. hirsutissima (=Oenothera hookeri sspp.; McD listed Oe. hookeri, but USDA does not show any synonym of the species as being present in Arizona, though numerous subspecies of Oe. hookeri are).  HOOKER'S EVENING-PRIMROSE.  Biennial.  Yavapai, Coconino, Navajo, and Apache counties, 3500-9000 feet [McD].


Oenothera flava.  YELLOW EVENING-PRIMROSE.  Perennial.  Mohave, Yavapai, Coconino, and Navajo counties at 2500-9000 feet [McD].


Oenothera flava ssp. taraxacoides (=Oenothera taraxacoides).  YELLOW EVENING-PRIMROSE.  Perennial.  Found in Coconino, Navajo, and Apache counties, 5000-9500 feet [McD].


Oenothera longissima (=Oenothera longissima ssp. clutei)  LONGSTEM EVENING-PRIMROSE.  Biennial or short-lived perennial.  Mohave, Coconino, and Navajo counties, and 4000-8000 feet [McD].


Oenothera neomexicana.  NEW MEXICO EVENING-PRIMROSE.  Biennial.  Oak Creek Canyon, Coconino County, at ca. 5100 feet [McD].
