Argemone arizonica. ARIZONA PRICKLYPOPPY. ROARING SPRINGS PRICKLY POPPY. Perennial. North and south walls of Grand Canyon, Coconino County [McD]. "[G]rows well in Grand Canyon National Park, especially along the Kaibab and Bright Angel trails" [FNA-3]. Grand Canyon: "found only in Roaring Springs Canyon along the North Kaibab Trail" at 6000-6800 feet [ARPC].

Argemone pleiacantha ssp. pleiacantha. SOUTHWESTERN PRICKLYPOPPY. Perennial or annual. Shown as present in northern Arizona and southeastern Arizona on FNA-3 range map, apparently in Coconino County and parts of southern Navajo and Apache counties, and northern Gila County. McDougall reports the species in Coconino and Yavapai counties at 3500-6000 feet, but does not distinguish between this and the following subspecies.
Argemone pleiacantha ssp. ambigua. SOUTHWESTERN PRICKLYPOPPY. Perennial or annual. Shown as present in northern Arizona on FNA-3 range map, apparently in Mohave, Yavapai, and Coconino counties, at about 3000-5500 feet. Slopes of Mingus Mountain, Prescott National Forest [LD].
Eschscholzia californica ssp. californica. CALIFORNIA POPPY. Usually perennial. Cultivated or seeded in Mohave, Coconino, Yavapai and Gila counties, at least 3000-5000 feet [JANAS-30(2)]. Flagstaff, at ca. 7000 feet [LD].
Eschscholzia californica ssp. mexicana (=Eschscholzia mexicana). CALIFORNIA POPPY. MEXICAN GOLD POPPY. Usually annual. Mohave, Yavapai, and Coconino counties, 4500 feet or lower [McD]. Mohave, Yavapai, and northern Gila counties, 1000-4600 feet; not in Coconino, Navajo, and Apache counties [JANAS-30(2)].
