Tree.  Mohave, Yavapai, and Coconino counties, 5500-9000 feet [McD].  At Grand Canyon along the North Rim and just below; Grandview and Yaki points; 7000-9000 feet [PP&B].  Northern Hualapai Mountains, Mohave County [JANAS-24/25].  West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon of Coconino County [DP-21(1)].


Abies lasiocarpa. ALPINE FIR. SUB-ALPINE FIR. Tree.  Coconino and Apache counties, at 8000 feet up to timberline [McD].  At Grand Canyon on North Rim, 8500-9150 feet [PP&B].


Abies lasiocarpa var. arizonica. CORKBARK FIR. Tree.  San Francisco Mountain, 8500 feet and higher [McD].


Picea engelmanni. ENGELMANN SPRUCE. Tree.  Coconino and Apache counties, 8000-12,000 feet [McD].  At Grand Canyon on North Rim, 8400-9150 feet [PP&B].


Picea pungens. BLUE SPRUCE. Tree.  Coconino and Apache counties, 7000-11,000 feet [McD].  At Grand Canyon on high elevations of North Rim [PP&B].  West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon of Coconino County [DP-21(1)].



Pinus aristata. ROCKY MOUNTAIN BRISTLECONE PINE. COLORADO BRISTLECONE PINE. Tree. San Francisco Mountain, Coconino County at 9500-12,000 feet [McD].



Pinus edulis. COLORADO PINYON. "PINYON PINE."  Tree.  Throughout region at 4000-7000 feet [McD].  Grand Canyon National Park: Dominant tree in South Rim woodlands and in Inner Canyon; also known from portions of North Rim; 4000-7700 feet [PP&B].  West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon of Coconino County, on rim only [DP-21(1)].


Pinus flexilis. LIMBER PINE. Tree. Coconino County, possibly also Apache County, mostly above 7000 feet [McD].


Pinus leiophylla var. chihuahuana. CHIHUAHUA PINE. Tree. Reported to have been collected along White River, southern Navajo and Apache counties [McD].



Pinus monophylla. SINGLE-LEAF PINYON. SINGLELEAF PINE. Tree.  Northern Mohave County [McD].  Grand Canyon National Park, 4000-6500 feet [PP&B].  Common at north end of northern Hualapai Mountains, Mohave County [JANAS-24/25].



Pinus ponderosa var. scopulorum.  PONDEROSA PINE. WESTERN YELLOW PINE. Tree.  Northern and central Arizona [K&P].  Yavapai, Coconino, Navajo, and Apache counties, mostly between 5500-8000 feet, but sometimes found as low as 3500 or up to 9500 feet [McD, P. ponderosa].  Grand Canyon National Park, 6000-8000 feet [PP&B, P. ponderosa].  Northern Hualapai Mountains, Mohave County [JANAS-24/25].  West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon of Coconino County [DP-21(1)].


Pinus resinosa.  RED PINE.  Tree.  Planted along switchbacks of Oak Creek Canyon, Coconino County [ML].


Pinus strobiformis (=Pinus flexilis var. reflexa).  SOUTHWESTERN WHITE PINE.  Tree.  White Mountains of Apache County [McD].


Pinus sylvestris.  SCOTCH PINE.  Tree.  Planted along switchbacks of Oak Creek Canyon, Coconino County [ML].




Pseudotsuga menziesii var. glauca. ROCKY MOUNTAIN DOUGLAS FIR.  DOUGLAS-FIR.  Tree. Throughout region, 6500-10,000 feet, sometimes as low as 5000 feet in canyons [McD].  At Grand Canyon National Park: Dominant at higher elevations of North Rim, in north-facing and in protected alcoves below South Rim; 6500-9100 ft [PP&B].  Northern Hualapai Mountains, Mohave County [JANAS-24/25].  West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon of Coconino County [DP-21(1), P. menziesii].
